YFUS Update

Congratulation on your opening bass day venture! We didn't get out till about 7:30 on Saturday and fished till 11:30. We did 3 long drifts into Big Bay. We caught 45 fish the biggest of which were: 24 inch pickeral, 20 inch walleye, 18 inch SM bass and a 17 inch LM bass. We actually saw a 10 inch gar out of the Bay this weekend. Most were caught on spinners with a piece of worm. Club members Dan Pabis and Phil Hildreth were on board the YFUS for this fishing venture. I would have rather had a west wind to deal with, but we eat a great lunch. So far this season we have caught 613 fish. Oneida Lake is the best fishing lake in the World!

Bass Season Begins

Saturday was a terrible opening to the Bass Season...weather wise. Although, I don't know about you all, but I had a GREAT morning before the rain arrived. I was on the water by 5:00 and off by 8:30. I boated 11 smallies, a just-under 15 in walleye, and a white perch. The smallies were on a feeding rampage. They were hitting everything I threw at them... especially Rob Goffredo's "Shadalicious" recommendation. One bit of advice though folks... don't try to set the hook on the first hit!

AWESOME WEEKEND

This past weekend was a VERY successful weekend for the club!

We raised over $300 in our 1st ever yard sale! We also raised roughly $1300 in our first Chicken BBQ of the year! We had great weather and a great turnout.
